Airport

Roskilde Airport is located eight kilometers south of Roskilde, between the towns of Gadstrup and Tune. The airport lies around 40 kilometers from the Copenhagen city centre and 45 kilometers from Copenhagen Airport at Kastrup. The airport is owned and operated by Copenhagen Airports A/S (CPH), a company listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

The airport is open all around the clock and has immigration and customs a facility for international traffic, but it is used primarily by the taxi tour, and training flights. It is also the base for learning for some pilot schools. The airport is home to more than half of the Danish fleet of GA-aircraft. There are few scheduled services to small islands, but Roskilde Airport is planning for an expansion of the airport site to include services for low-price international and charter flights.

Size and runway system

Roskilde Airport has two runways; Runway 03/21 which is 1,500 meters long and 32 meters wide, whilst Runway 11/29 which is 1,799 meters long and 32 meters wide. The total area of the airport is 4.5 square kilometers.International visitors to Roskilde should consider travel insurance.
