In ancient times, Roskilde was the capital of Denmark. Roskilde Cathedral has been the entombment place of Danish kings and queens since the 15th century. Roskilde Cathedral has now gained the number on World Heritage List. Beside the structural design of Roskilde Cathedral, a museum of innovating national and international art is flourished in the culture of Roskilde. An extravagant Viking Ship museum Roskilde is the home of modified museum exhibitions and golf courses.
The Viking Ship Museum is placed on the water's edge of the beautiful Roskilde Fjord. Its reality results from the local discovery of five ancient Viking boats, now restored and on display in the museum. You can also watch cruiser builders working on the reconstruction of a 30 meter long Viking warship.

Every year since 1971, the small Danish municipality of Roskilde make merry of the largest music festival in Northern Europe, presenting a progressive and imaginative music involuntary ranging. It represents nearby day rock to electronic music, hip hop and global beat with an extensive programmed of events, art and activities. In 1972, the festival was taken in excess by the Roskilde Foundation, which has been running the festival as a non-profit organization for development and support of music and humanism culture.
The festival has an outsized camping area and seven music stages out of which the Orange Canopy Stage bide in 1978 from a Rolling Stones company is the world famous symbol of Roskilde Festival. Roskilde Festival is held in south of Roskilde in Denmark and is one of the five biggest annual rock music festivals in Europe ,the those fours are the Szigeti Festival, the Glastonbury Festival, the Paleo Festival and Rock Werchter festival. Despite previous worry about the disappearing available space for camping, Roskilde Festival will continues to provide camping facilities and booths offering food, drinks, bathing areas, and supermarket places.
